Afristar has partnered with Qure, the Association of Compassion and the Cannabis Development Council, Western Cape to establish the Good Gift Cannabis Research Institute a people focused science and technology center that communicates a vision for the Cannabis value chain and its application for climate resilience and social upliftment through a living model that can be visited and experienced.

Our goal is to unlock the cannabis value chain in the Western Cape in an inclusive way that is accessible to all by researching and developing genetics, providing access to cooperative cultivation and processing, farming industrial and medical cannabis (both high THC and CBD), pioneering processing innovation and product development for existing and new markets with a strong focus on affordable medicine.
Our aim is to develop an institute built around African cannabis where we can research the existing genetics and create new strains to birth this potential sunrise industry in South Africa in a new social compact that serves to uplift and empower the poor and marginalised of our society.

Let’s build a resilient society together

At Afristar, we understand the complexities of the African environment and specialise in  restoration and resiliency solutions for each unique situation. We have developed cutting-edge and environmentally-focused strategies to help mitigate the effects of poor land use practice.
